Darius Rucker, ex Hootie & the Blowfish, got the #1 hot country single song, “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” from his 2008 album “Learn to Live”, it is his second number 1 country single. Darius says that the acceptance has been great and that he feels welcome to the country world.

He also credits his success to the time he spent in Nashville, writing songs for several country stars like Nancy Griffith, Rodney Foster and Mark O’Connor. Rucker’s first country number 1, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” was the first by a black artist since Charlie Pride’s “Night Games” 25 years ago.
“It Won’t Be Like This For Long” came out of a songwriting session with Chris DuBois and Ashley Gorley. The song is like a lullaby song that Rucker’s said he wrote it to sing for his kids, Darius expects to release a third single from “Learn To Live,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart. He’ll be touring with Rascal Flatts, dates will be announced soon.
